Course Description: Residential interior design techniques have carried over into commercial projects, as people demand more inviting environments in workplaces, stores, and restaurants- you could even say that the romance of lighting has returned to commercial and residential spaces. The stark design of the 1980s and mid-1990s has given way to softer, more humanizing environments.

The technique of Light Layering creates more inviting spaces for people. Decorative fixtures have become the new jewelry of architecture and interior design. The need for new lighting solutions which can be integrated into historically significant or traditionally styled projects has proven to be challenging for design professionals.

Join Randall on an informative and sometimes humorous tour of both fantastic and seriously flawed projects will illustrate the effect lighting can have. Many types of commercial spaces will be shown and discussed, as well as the challenge of adding new lighting to traditional homes.
