This issue of Art & Antiques magazine features a lavish 12 page spread
on one of Randall Whitehead's recent projects- a sumptuous modern residence
in Modesto, California that makes the most of its beautiful Central Valley
setting while showcasing the owners' elegant art collection and unique sense of style and graceful
Californa living. Written by Jenna Curry, with photographs by Dennis Anderson.
"The owners of this modern Northern California gem designed
the home around a most prized possession: their art
collection; but surprisingly, the most valuable piece is not
inside the gallery-like house, it's the three huge, old oak
trees surrounding the property. Overlooking a bluff, with a
bridge that stands 30 feet above the ground, "It's almost
like a treehouse," says architect Conrad Sanchez, who
designed the home with his father, Harvey. The home boasts
high-tech functionality, floor-to-ceiling glass windows and
lighting fixtures that can be considered works of
art."
