"Randall Whitehead has been our only lighting source since we
moved to San Francisco in 2004. In fact, we were so satisfied
with Mr. Whitehead from the outset we have since retained him
exclusively for all of our Bay area properties. Although we
hired him specifically for his lighting expertise, he has
delivered much more than that. In addition to his extraordinary
lighting work, he has helped us out many times before with
furniture layout, color specifications, architecture
modifications and material selections - all of which saved us a
lot of time, money and mistakes. Regarding Randall's
resourcefulness, it is his passion for "lighting" that truly
transformed our homes. He has an amazingly accurate ability to
awaken and breathe life into a space's soul, regardless of its
size, limitations, etc. Our current residence at the Millennium
Tower is a perfect example. Despite our high-rise condominium's
diminutive dimensions and surrounded shade, Randall worked

how he did it. Good question ... We often joke around about why
we should request a refund from Randall because we cannot
actually see his work! And that is precisely the point. His
lighting solutions are always imperceptible to the eye. We
never understood just how hard such effective evanescence is to
accomplish until we began studying Randall's work more closely.
The mysterious manipulation of light that surrounds and bathes
our unit is a feast for the eyes. Visitors rarely ask about the
mechanics of the lighting or where the light sources come from.
They simply tell us how beautiful the entire space looks.

My husband and I worked with Randall on the
contemporary home we
built in Carmel. It was a challenging project with lots of high
ceilings, walls of glass and a unique design. We chose Randall
because of his overall design philosophy of "layering" light,
and because of his emphasis on illuminating the outdoors to
bring the outside in. This was important to us since making a
seamless transition from the inside to the outside was one of
our design goals. Randall exceeded our expectations. He has a
great design aesthetic and is very knowledgable about what's
available to suit the specific architecture. He worked
effectively within Title 24 and turned what we thought was a
limitation into an opportunity by choosing fixtures which were
compliant with the regulations while making a design statement
for our home. The finished product is outstanding - our home
looks spectacular at night! Randall is a pleasure to work with,
